Camp LEAD: Leadership Education, Adventure Driven
(Formerly Camp Ford)
for incoming 9th graders
Camp LEAD is a week-long outdoor leadership camp for incoming freshman (currently 8th graders) in Siskiyou County.
Camper Information
When: Sunday, July 19th - Saturday, July 25th
** A parent and camper information session will be held in Yreka, date TBD.
Where: Paradise Point, CA (18 miles southeast of Happy Camp) on the Klamath River. Transportation to and from camp will be provided from Yreka and Happy Camp.
Who: Current 8th graders (Incoming 9th graders in fall 2015) in Siskiyou County, looking for a fun, challenging summer outdoors exerpeince.
What: Leadership development activities, river rafting, crafts, volleyball, skits, campfire, learning about nature, swimming and much, much more! Come to Camp LEAD to get prepared for high school: Be yourself, grow as a leader, and make new friends!

Reference Forms: Please submit two reference forms. One must be from a teacher/principal and the other can be from any adult, not related to you, and has known you for at least a year. Download a printable reference form.

Cost: There is no cost to attend.
Note: This is a competitive application process. Any application filled out by a parent/guardian will be disqualified. Upon acceptance to the camp you will be provided with parental/guardian consent form, health form, and liability waiver.

Counselor Information
Who: Former Camp Ford Campers/Counselors that are current high school sophomores and juniors in Siskiyou County who wish to support incoming freshamn, to better prepare them for their transition to high school, connect with the outdoors and learn and practice leadership skills.
Key responsibilities include:
Attend the counselor orientation
Be a positive role model to campers
Lead Activities
Connect with the campers from your community every three months during their freshman year

Compensation:
This is a volunteer position. All food, rafting, training and travel is included.
